Dr. Jayaram K Poduval

Dr. Jayaram Poduval is born in Annur, Payyanur, Kerala, India. After finishing his graduation in History from Payyanur College, [Calicut University] he joined Department of Art History & Aesthetics for his Post Graduation in Art History. He specializes in Indian architecture History and has published many articles on major Indian sites as Ajanta, Hampi and Badami. He was also guest author and wrote the chapters on Kerala Temple architecture for the Encyclopaedia of Indian Temple Architecture published by American Institute of Indian Studies. He also wrote articles on Indian Sculpture for the Encyclopaedia of Sculpture Fitzroy Dearborn, Chicago. He was the fellow of the American Institute of Indian Studies [1989] and Institute of Advanced Study in Humanities at The University of Edinburgh [1996]. He has edited three books on Ajanta, Utpatti Pidugu and EB Havell. He has curated international art shows like Satyagraha [Commemorating 100 Years of Satyagraha [New Delhi and Durban]. His other curations include Chronicle of the Unspoken [Matters of Art, New Delhi], and Parables of Thread [Loft Gallery, Mumbai] He was the curatorial consultant for the show of Indian Art in Mori Museum, Tokyo, Japan titled Chalo India. His doctoral thesis titled “Caste Segregation in Kerala Temple Architecture: Namaskara Mandapams a case study” focuses on the caste hierarchy in Kerala and the architectural structuring of the society in Kerala.
At present he is the Head of Department of Art History and Aesthetics, Faculty of Fine Art at Maharaja Sayajirao University[MSU] of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India.

Manish Nath Jha

Manish Nath Jha trained in Product Design at the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD), Jaipur. As a student, he explored various aspects of Wood/ Metal/ Stone/ Ceramic/ Leather Craft. He began his professional career in GPL Group of companies, NOIDA developing a range of lighting products for indoors and outdoors. He has spent over eight years as Design professional in industry such as Dapper Export Pvt. Ltd. and ALC Pvt. Ltd etc. playing a dynamic role as a Design Manager and Head Designer respectively. During this period he has developed a range of lightings, furnitures & Accessories based products for the international client such as IKEA, Pottery Barn, Restoration hardware and Ralph Lauren etc.
Manish went on to teach design as a fulltime faculty at Unitedworld institute of Design (UID), Gandhinagar & Nirma University (DOD), Ahmedabad introducing courses for foundation and Industrial product design students, which includes Geometry, model making, material exploration, Simple Mechanical Device, Digital Drawing , 2D/3D Softwares and traditional crafts to name a few. He has also worked in the capacity of visiting faculty across various design institutes in India. Manish focuses on developing convenient production tools for efficiency at work in the craft sector. He also takes keen interest in crafts relating to different materials.
Deepak vishwakarma

Deepak Vishwakarma, Joined MRID as Assistant Principal Designer in May 2019. He has done his Post Graduate Diploma - Ceramic and Glass Design from the prestigious national institute of design, Ahmadabad, and Graduation (Bachelor in fine arts) in Sculpture College of Art, New Delhi.
After finishing his education in arts and design in 2013, he started his professional career with a 2 month design project- at dirty hands, Ahmadabad in 2014. Along with that he has been associated with National Bal Bhavan to see the possibilities in nurturing young minds, and also conducted many art workshop with his school art teacher’s guidance.
He also worked as Sr. Design Executive - at S&R Exports, Gurgaon for a year from 2014 to 2015.
He also got an opportunity to work as Creative Consultant - at Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2015, conducted by Ministry of Culture. From 2015 onwards he has been associated with Maharja Ranjitsigh Gaekwad institute of design as a visiting Faculty.
He is also has been asscociated with Unitedworld institute of design Gandhinagar, Gujarat as Assistant Professor.
He has always been keen on bridging the gap between design, craft and art. Having the Understanding of varied materials and techniques, specializing in glass and ceramics - terracotta and stone ware along with basic metal work and wood work, he has worked in the areas of installation design, sculptures, relief work, murals, tiles, lighting etc.
